As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Backend Engineer to develop and maintain core backend services so that we can deliver a seamless and intuitive experience for our users' everyday financial needs. As our new Backend Engineer, you will be part of our Experience Area, reporting to Mathies Christensen. The Experience Area comprises different teams working in Aarhus and Copenhagen, who are focused on building and maintaining the customer-facing features within the app and web platform within the broader Technology function, led by Rolf Njor.

What will you do?

• Develop and maintain seamless backend solutions (GoLang, PostgreSQL) for central user-facing products for both private and business users, including budgets, paying bills, daily spend, savings, shared account, child accounts, invest, crypto, and much more.

• Design and implement products on a state of the art tech stack (AWS, Docker, GitHub) powered by an event driven architecture that ensures robustness and scalability.

• Design and build APIs (HTTP/Swagger, GraphQL) in collaboration with frontend engineers for app and web (Kotlin, Swift, React).

• Write comprehensive automated tests for new and existing products to ensure high-quality and fast-paced software delivery.

• Monitor products closely using modern observability tools (Grafana, Falcon LogScale, Prometheus) and adapt to system and user data.

• Utilize AI (Cursor, Gemini, Claude etc) to improve quality and speed while coding and implement AI into the product where it makes sense.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver products that users love.

• Around 3-5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer.

• Strong proficiency in backend engineering (e.g. GoLang) and experience with event-driven architecture.

• Experience with API design and development (e.g. HTTP/Swagger, GraphQL).

• Solid understanding of database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL).

• A proactive approach to automated testing and monitoring of products.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team with different expertises and competencies.

• Experience with AI and understanding of how it benefits software development.

• A keen understanding of the intersection between business needs and engineering solutions.
