As our new Senior Backend Engineer, you'll join the Lending team based in Stockholm, reporting to Kasper Ernerot, working to build Lunar's lending products from the ground up.

Lending is a brand new product area for us, and most of the big architecture decisions are still ahead. The choices you make in your first months will shape our lending portfolio for years. You'll be one of five engineers building lending and overdraft, with real ownership, a team that helps each other get there, and a genuine chance to leave your mark on how Lunar lends money.

What will you do?

• Design and build the distributed, event-driven services behind our lending or overdraft products, owning them from architecture through to production.

• Own core lending domains end to end, making the trade-off calls on reliability, performance and speed as we grow from launch to a full product portfolio.

• Lead technical discussions on system design, and raise the quality bar through code review, mentoring and clear technical direction.

• Work with product, design and risk to ship lending experiences customers actually feel, in a regulated space where getting it right matters.

• Explore where AI can make our lending products smarter, from decisioning to the everyday customer experience.

What are we looking for in you?

• You've built or run services that handle credit, loans or repayments, such as decisioning, loan servicing or interest calculation.

• You've designed and delivered complex backend systems at scale that real customers depend on.

• You know event-driven architecture and distributed systems well, and understand the trade-offs that come with them.

• You have experience with cloud technologies. Go is a significant advantage, though not a requirement, and we'll help you get up to speed.

• You get things done, work with a high degree of autonomy, and are comfortable without a well-worn path in front of you.
