As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we're seeking a Data Scientist to be a key driver in leveraging data and machine learning to optimize our operations, enhance customer experience, and mitigate risks.

You'll develop and deploy advanced ML models across a wide range of applications and teams, from financial crime prevention and fraud detection to customer risk scoring and sales optimization. You'll also explore and implement cutting-edge  data solutions and ML platforms to further automate and improve our systems. As our new Data Scientist, you'll join our Squad Perseverance team, reporting to Eugene, our Senior Engineering Manager. The team comprises dedicated individuals working in Aarhus, focusing on leveraging data to drive innovation within our Technology function, led by Jesper Lau Elbro.

What will you do?

• ML Model Development and Deployment: Design, develop, deploy and maintain robust machine learning- and statistical models for various applications, including fraud detection, transaction monitoring, loan risk assessment, customer risk scoring and sales/lead generation

• Experimentation and Evaluation Systems: Design and operate frameworks for experiment tracking, model evaluation, and controlled model performance using tools such as MLflow and Metaflow, with strong test sets and benchmarks across diverse ML projects.

• Data Analysis and Feature Engineering: Perform in-depth data analysis, feature engineering, and model evaluation to ensure optimal model performance.

• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define project requirements, deliver actionable insights, and drive data-driven decision-making.

• Staying Current: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and GenAI, and apply them to improve Lunar's data capabilities.

• Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of models, methodologies, and results.

A little about you

• Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.

• Strong proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

• Experience with cloud-based ML platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Kubeflow).

• Strong understanding of machine learning, statistical modeling and data analysis techniques.

• Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.

• Experience with financial - or other highly regulated industry is a significant plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
