Our combination of tech innovation and financial services is disrupting the traditional banking landscape, and we’re looking for a Head of Group Accounting and Controlling to lead this transformation from a financial perspective.

In this high-impact role, you'll report directly to our Group CFO, Martin Tranekær, and lead the Group Accounting and Controlling team. Based in our Copenhagen office, you'll be responsible for ensuring financial excellence across the organization, driving both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement as we expand.

What will you do?

• Lead the Group Accounting and Controlling team, overseeing accounting, auditing, and controlling functions across the organization.

• Manage the daily operations of accounting and controlling, including the month-end close process.

• Drive the preparation of semi-annual and annual reports in line with regulatory requirements.

• Implement and optimize internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Actively engage with the accounting team in discussions and decision-making, providing hands-on guidance.

• Oversee corporate tax, VAT, and financial reporting processes, ensuring full compliance.

• Lead a project to streamline bank reconciliation processes, with a focus on our Citi foreign accounts.

• Spearhead the insourcing of the accounting function, bringing it fully in-house.

• Partner with internal teams to identify areas for process improvement, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

• A proven leader with a structured approach to problem-solving and a proactive, hands-on attitude.

• Extensive experience in accounting and controlling, with a deep understanding of auditing and financial regulations.

• A strong grasp of accounting rules and practices, with the ability to engage in detailed discussions with your team.

• Solid experience with corporate tax and VAT processes.

• Familiarity with financial operations within the banking or financial services sector is a plus.

• Educational background in accounting or finance, such as an HD-R, Cand.Merc Aud., or equivalent qualification.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
