A glimpse into Lunar technology

We have built our internal technology platform on an event-based microservice architecture and have about 450 of them running. Continuous and independent deployability is crucial, as we release about 1000 times to production a month.

We work in multiple autonomous squads with end-to-end responsibilities of smaller parts of Lunar. The QA role is not embedded into the squads but is a supporting function that can identify initiatives to help us higher the quality across all of Lunar. Our wish is to grow bigger, as we identify areas to improve.

Having a setup like ours requires us to have a solid and transparent process to handle incidents, as well as a good quality and testing process. This is where you will put your focus.

You are a great QA Analyst with strong communication skills. You will be supporting our squads with QA-specific activities if needed, but spend most of your time working on initiatives that can benefit all our squads. Your first focus will be on our incident response, including looking into tooling and support for our incident handling, but also being a strong communicator during incidents making sure all internal and external stakeholders are updated regularly.

Some of those responsibilities could be:

• Risk assessments within each squad are responsible to focus on testing, monitoring and observability of our critical services.

• Designing and executing explorative tests together with the squads.

• Risk assessments before launching new products.

• Make sure we have post-mortems on all incidents, follow up on actions and talk to the squads about improvement points.

• Participate in bug triages and look into service desk optimizations.

This is of course only our take on the role, but we expect that you will be able to define your own role, and find and implement optimizations across Lunar when you are up to speed.

Requirements

If you have experience in a similar role it is very cool - but not a hard requirement. We hope that you have flair for working with people and complex domains and that you know the difference between nice to and need to in terms of quality and making deadlines.
