Our goal

As Lunar Architects you work towards the long term goals for Lunar in continuous movement towards the IT & product strategy. Creating a foundation which is scalable for both the organization across many entities and the technology platforms, domains and clients.
We focus on consolidation across all Lunar and all lunar clients - One company and one Lunar brand while fostering a culture of fast feedback loops, sharing, learning and constant change. 

The role and what you will be doing

As an Architect in addition to the holistic overview as part of the architecture chapter - you will be focusing on a specific cluster of squads with high coherence i.e Loan and Credit.

You will take an active part in the development while still ensuring that every small step is a step towards our long term targets. You will help the squads to engineer with resilience, scalability, redundancy, performance and security in mind.

As an architect you will use your ability to convey information and communication on many levels - visually, written and in defined specifications. You will be an active technical leader and ensure sound technical guidance for a Lunar perspective. This means contributing to monitoring, visibility, testability, maintainability and continuous improvement of our products.

A look under the hood - our tech

Lunar is built on a domain driven foundation of 250+ microservices segregated into bounded contexts with api’s and events. This is on top of a Kubernetes cloud orchestration carefully designed with abstractions to enable engineers to leverage the full force of the platform with very little friction. We are event driven and in certain cases also eventsourced. Using RabbitMQ as our main broker, but also using Kafka and Azure service bus in certain areas taking the best tool for the job approach.

Our clients are mainly native apps Android, iOS and web clients using react and node.js
We develop applications in go!, .Net and Python as main languages depending on the Squad and the mission. For our operations platform we span the 3 public clouds: AWS, Azure and GCP. Azure will be your main platform and a broad knowledge of Azure technologies like: AppServices, AzureFunctions, ApplicationGateway, ServiceBus, RedisCache, KeyVault, AzureSQL, AzureStorage is a benefit.

Your profile and elevator pitch

You know that creating scalable architecture is a many faceted target. Shaping both the application code and the technology platform - but just as important shaping the people and the company culture.

It is not a prerequisite that you have deep insights in the financial domain, as long as you are passionate about understanding and navigating in a complex business domain and want to help squads reach their mission in collaboration with the end-users and company stakeholders.

You are passionate about your job and know how to listen and receive input - and master giving constructive feedback. You enjoy conveying a direction when necessary and do not mind setting an example for others to follow. At the same time, you know when your job is done or when you need to step away.
